January 2008 Update

Posted January 15, 2008 11:04 AM

2007 was a year that I will never forget. So many highlights and amazing experiences. From travelling across the world to the Canary Islands to compete, and win my age group, at Ironman Lanzarote. To all 13 of my IM clients successfully completing their race at Ironman Canada in August. To having a wonderfully positive experience at Ironman Hawaii in October. It was all good!

2008 will see both Bob and I competing at the Age Group Olympic distance World Championships in Vancouver on June 7th. Bob qualified this past June in Vancouver. When I withdrew from competing at IMCanada to focus on my IMHawaii training, I decided to race instead in Kelowna in the Olympic distance Apple Triathlon in August. While not qualifying outright (the first 4 places were automatic qualifying spots) I did place 6th in my age group and a couple of months later was offered a "rolldown" spot for the Worlds, which I accepted!

Bob and I have also both signed up for Ironman Canada. It will have been 4 years since the last time Bob did an IM race so he is looking forward to the challenge once again. We'll look forward to sharing this experience with my 2008 IM clients.

Our big adventure this year will be to travel to Australia in mid-November where we will stay for a month. We will be competing at IMWestern Australia in Buselton (near Perth) on December 7th. We'll be spending some time on the Eastern Coast (Gold Coast) before travelling to Perth and Buselton. After the race we'll head to Sydney for a few days before heading home to Victoria.

There's definately lots to look forward to in 2008!
